What a big week!

Book Buddies
Today with our book buddies, we made 'Reindeer Chow'. The kiddos loved it and cannot wait to put it out with Santa's cookies. Please check in your child's bag, as it is going home today.

Winter Celebration is this Thursday!
Students may come to school in their pj's as part of our special day. During our math block, we will be having two centers
-pattern center where we will be making necklaces with bells a la Polar Express
-2D and 3D shape sort using the food goodies (Graham crackers, jolly ranchers, cheese its, etc...)
In the afternoon, we will be listening to The Polar Express while having some hot chocolate with marshmellows and candy canes.

Thank you to everyone who has sent in items and/or volunteered for this event.

Track Out
As you know, track out is Thursday (and it is a long one).
-As with all track outs, Friday folders will not go home. Instead, all papers will be stapled and put in your child's back pack. This includes your child's first report card. Please sign and return the envelope upon returning from track out. Please feel free to email or call should you have any questions about your child's report card.
-Your child's sight word books for this quarter, will also be going home on Thursday. Take some time over the long break (or long car/plane ride if you are traveling over the holidays) to have your child read them to you. Not only is it good reading practice and reinforcement of sight words, you will also get to see the growth they are making as readers.
-Rest towels will be going home and NOT coming back when we track back in.
-Speaking of coming back, we will be in a DIFFERENT room when we come back. However, it is just next door in room 218. Don't worry, I will be outside in the hallway making sure the kiddos are going to the correct room.

On a personal note,  for the holidays, my husband and I will be traveling to south Florida (first 12 hour car ride with a 3 year old and 7 month old...yikes!) to see our families and do some much needed relaxing, eating, and just hanging out. I hope this holiday season finds you happy, safe, and surrounded by the ones you love.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
